Rihanna wants back with an old flame on her new single “Kiss It Better” from her eighth studio album, ANTi. The song, which features a co-writing credit for none other than dark pop master Teddy Sinclair (Natalia Kills), is as sensual and passionate as the accompanying video which features Rihanna writhing around in various stages of undress.
Unlike Ariana Grande’s “Dangerous Woman“, Rihanna’s love song has her in control. “Fuck yo pride / take it back all night” she commands, telling her ex he’s not less of a man to still have feelings for her. The chorus itself is also more of a command than a plea. Rihanna owns her sexuality, and while a man may contribute to the happiness in her life, she is not dependent upon a man for that happiness. Talk about a dangerous woman.
