Watch: M.I.A. – ‘P.O.W.A.’ Music Video

M.I.A. is back following the release of her latest album AIM and ready to share new music, releasing a music video that she directed herself for a track called ‘P.O.W.A.’ The singer said upon the release of AIM that she’d be taking a break from music — but it’s not surprising that the current political state of the world would have M.I.A. back on the scene; she’s an artist that thrives on making music with a message.

The stunning visual for ‘P.OW.A’ sees M.I.A. covered in roses on a truck bed, juxtaposed with various stunning landscapes, and shots of a dance troupe performing a routine dressed in outfits donning M.I.A.’s AIM era logo are added in for good measure.

While ‘P.O.W.A.’ is not a cut off AIM, Interscope is promoting the album with the track’s music video – and this could be a good sign that more music (or perhaps even a re-release?) may be in the future. One thing’s for sure – when people around the world find themselves oppressed, M.I.A. remains fearless and she sure has the power to come fight for their rights.
