Yianna Sizzles on new single ‘Heavy Waters’

Vocals as sweet and thick as honey elevate Yianna’s new single, ‘Heavy Waters’ to heavenly proportions. The New York-based songstress is back today with the song, a follow up to her late-2018 debut, “Ordinary Love.” Yianna founds inspiration from some of music’s greatest genres — alt-rock, pop and soulful R&B — making for music that’s as diverse as it is creative.

The soulful energy and raw vocals on the track will delight fans of Dua Lipa. Yianna commands the track throughout its 4 minute runtime, being equal parts emotional, vulnerable and sultry.

“‘Heavy Waters’ is about knowing that the relationship you’re in isn’t working and you’re not going anywhere with this person,” Yianna said about the track, “You know you should leave, but you can’t or you’re afraid for one reason or another.”

‘Heavy Waters’ seems to ponder more than just stagnant relationships. At age 18, Yianna dropped out of college to pursue music. With little experience in the industry, she found herself stuck and thought it might be time move on by applying to a military program. Thankfully those around her gave her the encouragement she needed to give it one more shot — renewing her drive and passion and giving listeners some pure pop perfection.
