Kylie Minogue is an artist whose name is synonymous with ethereal beauty, which might be why it’s so out of ‘character’ to see her getting visibly frustrated in her new music video for ‘Lights Camera Action’. As the video begins, a black-and-white Minogue is recording a scene when the track’s lyrics proclaim ‘It’s about to go off… Tell me, can you feel it?’
“Cut, cut it!” Minogue yells over the track, visibly frustrated. Granted, this is all acting for her music video, but it’s a refreshing glimpse behind the scenes that shows she’s human as well as goddess. The video soon explodes in a splash of color as Minogue struts her stuff in full glam as if she were a Vogue magazine cover come to life.
‘Lights Camera Action’ is a beautiful and boisterous anthem, carefully designed to follow up on the success of Minogue’s runaway hit ‘Padam Padam’.
The track comes ahead of the news of Minogue’s 2025 Tension Tour as well as Tension II, which comes out Oct. 18, 2024. The new album comes with thirteen tracks and boasts impressive collaborations including Bebe Rexha, Tove Lo, Orville Peck, Diplo, Sia and The Blessed Madonna.
‘Lights Camera Action’ is available now on all streaming platforms. Tension II comes out Oct. 18 and can be pre-saved now.
