BLACKPINK’s LISA Falls Hard in Love on ‘Moonlit Floor’

LISA’s new heartfelt single appears to be all about her romance with French billionaire Frederic Arnault

BLACKPINK‘s Lisa has been on a roll with her solo music releases — with ‘Rockstar’ and ‘New Woman’ both showing an exciting new side to the Thai singer and K-Pop star. Her latest single, ‘Moonlit Floor’ lets fans into her life even further, with the track being a heartfelt love song specifically for the French guy who’s changed her life.

Rumors began swirling earlier this year when Lisa was spotted having dinner in Paris with Frederic Arnault, the French billionaire and former CEO of Tag Heuer. These rumors now seem to be confirmed, with Lisa’s lovesick ‘Moonlit Floor’ being all about falling hard in love with the French businessman. “Green-eyed French boy got me tripping, oh your skin is always soft, how your kisses always hit, how you know just where to…” she sings, before getting even more sensual describing his kisses and the “tricks” his tongue can do.

The song also beautifully interpolates Leigh Nash and Sixpence None the Richer’s “Kiss Me” — an iconic love song if there ever was one. Lisa’s voice expertly navigates Nash’s most iconic song, which blends beautifully into the rest of ‘Moonlit Floor’ to give the song an even more romantic vibe with a dash of nostalgia, as intended.

Most of Lisa’s solo music has been empowering pop/hip-hop anthems, like ‘Rockstar’ and 2021’s infectious tracks ‘Money’ and ‘Lalisa’. It’s refreshing to see Lisa’s more tender and loving side with ‘Moonlit Floor’, and the song will undoubtedly be a huge success with the singer’s massive fanbase.

This is the perfect time for Lisa to release ‘Moonlit Floor’ — her relationship appears to still be in its puppy love phase, and the song is a beautiful testament to young and flourishing love. (If only we could all relate to the more personal lyrics about having a handsome French billionaire to court us, but I digress.) The track also feels like it will be right at home with the rest of BLACKPINK’s catalogue, when the band resume their group activities sometime next year.

‘Moonlit Floor’ is available on all streaming platforms now.
