Kerli dropped a wonderful surprise today with the release of her second single and its accompanying music video. The track, “Blossom” is a dark and brooding follow up to the masterpiece that is “Feral Hearts“. It’s worth noting that this is Kerli’s first independent album, and she is proof that when an artist is given free reign over her craft, it not only elevates the artist to reach new heights, but the listeners get treated to true art that is more thought provoking and masterful.
As a song, “Blossom” is quintessential Kerli, and the music video represents her at her most visceral and organic. The metaphorical blossoming is represented quite literally through Kerli in the video, as she transforms on the screen from darkness to bloom. Kerli has always been an artist that is as visual as she is musical; she joins the two together to create true bliss, and “Blossom” is no exception.
