Toronto’s Julia Carlucci has released her debut single, “Take Me Down” — a jazzy and electrifying number that show’s Carlucci’s got style and soul. There’s some serious rhythm and power to her vocals: think Amerie’s vocals over a Bruno Mars production.
Carlucci spoke about the track, saying “I always imagined this song with a strong sound and upbeat vibe, so the production needed to be just right. It needed to have that throwback feel but still punch like a contemporary pop record and I think we definitely achieved that.” Cat Lewis and Andrew Kesler produced the track, with Merik Williams directing the video.
