Kerli has a special treat for fans — a free download of her offering for the latest Tim Burton Alice in Wonderland movie. Speaking about the creation of the track on Instagram, Kerli said, “I actually wrote 3 songs for [the movie,] and we were this close to getting the official soundtrack […] but oh well.”
Kerli partnered with BitTorrent Now to offer “Racing Time” for free to her fans along with astoundingly high quality versions of her music videos for “Feral Hearts” and “Blossom“. “Racing Time” features artwork by Southern Californian Kurtis Rykovich showing a very Kerli-meets-Alice painting.
In 2010, Kerli’s track “Tea Party” was released on the official compilation album “Almost Alice” that accompanied the release of Burton’s first Alice film. (For Looking Glass, only a standard soundtrack was released featuring the score and P!nk’s “Just Like Fire”.) Kerli’s “Tea Party” was a fun and catchy take on Lewis Carroll’s fantasy world, and “Racing Time” offers a more pensive and introspective take on Alice and her adventures. This new sound matches Kerli’s latest work, and her time spent in the forests of Estonia creating music to soothe her soul was put to good use.
