Susan Egan – Winter Tracks is Holiday Music at its best

Susan Egan is best known for singing some of the most memorable Disney songs, whether it’s as Belle from Beauty and the Beast on Broadway or as the voice of Megara in the vastly underrated animated classic Hercules. It should come as no surprise that she’s an immensely talented actress and singer, and as the holiday season approaches, her holiday CD, the 2006 release Winter Tracks, brings about some of the best holiday nostalgia. Pop stars releasing Christmas CDs or doing holiday specials are often nothing more than a cash grab, but Egan’s Winter Tracks is heartfelt and genuine. Not to mention it’s a CD that sounds like a Disney princess singing holiday classics – amazing.

Winter Tracks features a hearty helping of 13 great tracks, starting with ‘The Most Wonderful Time of the Year’. Instantly you’re transported to a winer wonderland with Egan’s enchanting voice making the songs her own. Winter Tracks remains one of my favorites to listen to as Christmas approaches. The production is simple and effective, just as it should be to showcase Egan’s voice – the real reason you’ll want to listen to this CD over the thousands of others. She doesn’t need to rely on autotune or a choir of backing vocals to carry her through – her talent does all the work here.

Whether you’re looking for a collection of holiday songs to get you in the Christmas spirit or something to listen with the entire family as you decorate your tree, Susan Egan’s Winter Tracks comes highly recommended. The tracklisting for Winter Tracks is below. Check it out on Spotify, iTunes, and Amazon. Love Susan’s voice as much as we do? Check out her other albums – and if you listen to just one of her other songs, make it her ‘Disney Heroine Medley.’
